The second round of play in the 37th Junior America's Cup yielded some sub-par rounds at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena, CA. Justin Shin of Maple Ridge, British Columbia and US Junior Amateur Runner-Up Jay Hwang of San Diego both shot 4-under par 66 to best the field of 68 players. Other low rounds of the day included a 67 from Ty Travis of Eagle, Idaho and a 68 from Jaden Jackson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Justin Shin has a two-shot lead going into the final round over Jay Hwang to claim Individual Medalist honors.
In the team competition, San Diego claimed the lead from first round leader British Columbia by two-shots, shooting a team one-under par total of 209. San Diego's low three team scores included Hwang (66), Todd Baek of San Diego (70), and Allan Jun of Oceanside (74). Scores for Team British Columbia included Shin (66), Adam Svenson (73), and Charlie Hughes (73), both of Maple Ridge, BC.
Team Utah is currently in third place at 16-over par, followed by Team Sun Country at 17-over. Host association, Southern California holds fifth place at 20-over par.
